Bio

Well-traveled, entrepreneurial foodservice professional with a unique background in the culinary arts, nutrition, research and development, and foodservice management. Experience working in diverse settings on all seven continents including most sectors of commercial foodservice operations, strategic non-profit and both primary and secondary school nutrition. Areas of expertise include developing forward-thinking initiatives and implementing sustainable approaches to topics such as quality and cost control, recipe development, inventory and budget management, operational guidance and team supervision.

After nearly 20 years in the industry and over a decade splitting time as a personal/private chef and seasonal contractor in remote locations, such as Alaska and Antarctica, I settled in the Greater Seattle area in 2018 and started a new journey in K12 nutrition. I currently work full-time as the Nutrition Services Quality Assurance Manager for the Federal Way School District, directing operations of a large central kitchen while managing several other department programs. When time allows, I also freelance as a culinary nutrition consultant, offering services to both individuals and companies that include cooking demos/trainings, recipe development/standardization, menu evolution, dietary guidance, operation efficiency optimization, procurement instruction and budget analyses.
