Welcome! Our Mentor Match is another one of your great member benefits from ACF. This unique online networking and career development tool, helps you find, connect, and share experiences with others. Your mentor or mentee can be in the same city or on the other side of the world. You can even apply to be both a Mentor and a Mentee.
Participating in ACF Mentor Match is easy. . . simply follow these four steps:
Step 1: Start
Complete your Mentor Match profile. Make sure your contact information is up to date, add a recent professional profile picture, expand on your bio and import your education and job history information from LinkedIn (if available). Having a complete and accurate profile is important to finding the perfect match. With your profile complete you're ready to return back to this page for Step 2.
Step 2: Enroll
Do you want to be a mentor or mentee? Perhaps both? You do so by selecting the option below and enrolling:
• Enroll as a Mentor
• Enroll as a Mentee
Be sure to make selections for each of the selection criteria to set your preferences. Selection Criteria includes 1) Mentoring Topics, 2) Career Stage, 3) Work Environment and 4) Mentoring Format. Please note that some fields are required for enrollment. The more information you provide, the easier it is for us to recommend the best match for you. Remember, you must be enrolled (complete Step 2) in order to request a mentor or mentee.
Step 3: Search
Use the Mentor Match Program Directory and input your search criteria. Selecting your topic(s) of interest to find the best match. Mentoring topics include:
• Career Planning
• Chapter Leadership
• Job Search
You can also take advantage of features to help you find and recruit matches:
• Track your mentoring relationships
• Participate in discussion forums on mentoring topics
• Search for helpful mentoring resources
Step 4: Connect
Congratulations! You're all set. You completed steps 1-3 and are now ready to move forward. Let the mentoring relationship begin. You can do one search or multiple searches. If you're unsure of the search criteria, select "Search for ALL of the selected values." The Mentor Program Directory will do the work for you and populate the results.
Next, click on the member's name you're interested in establishing a mentor/mentee connection with. The link brings you to their profile page. If you think it's a desired match, look under their profile image for the Mentor Match badge, which when clicked allows you to request a connection. If it's not a desired match, simply select the back button to return to your previous search results.
