After years as a touring musician I tried shifting the skills I had learned into a new career. I went to college for business and set out at to be Marketing. After working for some companies and honing my skills as a writer, graphic designer and video editor I set out to try my skills in Los Angeles. I started work in a small pizza restaurant and tried working for the other businesses in our downtown area. I didn't realize that I was getting good at running a restaurant. After returning back home to Mississippi I bounced around different food jobs, mostly managing pizza places because thats all I was "the pizza guy". I took a year off to help my friend start up his comic book shop but still found myself back in a kitchen. Once I was in a casual dinning establishment I realized that this is the career I want. I decided to go to college, graduating with two degrees and winning many DECA awards. While doing this I climbed to a Sous Chef with my company but eventually left to explore other opportunities. I opened a 40s style burger joint and dabbled with the fine dinning in our city by working at Woody's Steakhouse (featured on the show Restaurant Impossible). Now with a little more under my belt I'm back at my company as a Sous Chef and officially an ACF member. My hopes are to achieve Chef De Cuisine certification and to learn under Chef Sean Brock
